Rivers State also known as Rivers State is a State in the Niger Delta region of the Southern Nigeria (Old Eastern Region), bordered to the North by Anambra and Imo States, to the East by Abia and Akwa Ibom States and to the West by Bayelsa and Delta States. Rivers State was split from the former Eastern Region, Rivers State borders include Anambra and Imo on the North, Abia and Akwa Ibom on the East, and Bayelsa and Delta on the West. Government expenditure in 2021 was N565 billion. The State capital is Port Harcourt, which is a metropolis considered to be the commercial centre of the Nigerian Oil industry.
